I bought this watch without having actually seen it (just based on the amazon photo) and it definitely looks much better and more refined in "person" than in the photos. If anything, it's a little less casual looking than in the photos. The hands and markers are shiny silver (and not luminous) and the black face has a bit of a metallic quality as well, which make it look handsome and a bit dressy (but still understated enough to wear with jeans). The strech band also looks better than in the photos - the gaps aren't as noticeable as in the photo because there is more silver tone material in the gaps that don't show up in the photo.
The watch keeps accurate time and needs no batteries. Looks great. Highly recommended watch, especially for the price.
