I've owned this watch for about a month now, and it was a gift...that said, I'm giving serious consideration for getting a better Citizen Watch. My main gripe with the watch is that its band is rather "chunky" for lack of a better word to use; most watch bands can be folded over themselves (meaning the band can make very tight bends) - not so with this band. The band is made in such a way that people with smaller wrists such as myself, will suffer. I can find no sizing of the band that fits me - I either get it so lose it slides off my wrist and down my arm, or so tight that it leaves a mark on my wrist.



On top of that, the watch is pretty primitive - the hands don't seem to line up with the markings very well, and the chronograph randomly will stop working.



A main feature I would get a better watch for would also be a perpetual calendar - the calendar on this watch assumes every month has 31 days...so at the end of some months you will need to manually adjust the date, which I find annoying. Before this watch I had a cheap Ironman, but it had a perpetual calendar that I never needed to worry about. For people who rely on their watch for the date, I highly recommend looking at some of the Citizen watches with a perpetual calendar feature.



All in all, this watch looks like a Fossil watch, but has the Citizen name on it. The band scratches easily, but as it is just brushed steel, the scratches won't show up that well, which is a good thing. I've bumped the crystal a few times on hard surfaces, but it hasn't scratched...yet.



The watch face certainly looks good in my opinion - the dial is a nice deep blue.



Late edit: Well, the crystal has scratched finally. A few times. I take the watch off when at my computer so I don't do too much harm to it...and yet there the scratches are. Out of curiosity to see how I did it, I grabbed one of my kitchen knives (hardened steel) and tried to scratch it...no luck (as expected. Quartz Crystal is a higher MOH than steel.)



Also, the band is taking a pretty bad beating...just daily use has left it scratched up quite a bit. Since this is stainless steel and not titanium it doesn't show up that much, but the scratches are there.

I own three Citizen watches, ranging in price from $400 to $129, and have been extremely pleased with them. I bought this one to give as a gift, and it does not reach the same standard as the others I bought. I guess for the price it is reasonable, but it just feels... cheap. It reminds me of Fossil watches-- extremely heavy bracelet, chunky, etc. In fact, you can get a nicer Fossil watch for the money you spend on this one. Looking at the picture, it seems as if the bezel would turn, as on many watches-- but it does not. This is the first time Citizen has let me down.

Comprei este relogio para substituir dois outros modelos semelhantes da Citizen e que duraram 15 anos sem qualquer manutenção a não ser troca das baterias. O diametro do relogio se mostrou um pouco pequeno para meu pulso, mas esse era um item que eu ja sabia - não foi surpresa. No mais o relogio é preciso e muito bonito, sóbrio, sem aquelas alegorias que outros modelos de fabricantes diversos teimam em 'desenvolver'.

Se existe uma coisa que poderia ser mudada é o tamanho do acumulador de minutos, que em vez de acumular 60 minutos em um mostrador tão pequeno, poderia acumular somente 30 minutos, facilitando em muito a leitura. O acumulo no outro mostrador seria progressivo , de 30 em 30 minutos .

Essa caracteristica existe em modelos da Zodiac, Breitling Navitimer, Omega Speedmaster e não seria um fator de aumento de preço.

I just received this watch as a gift and have been very impressed in the few days I have owned it. The watch was very easy to set as the instructions were straight forward and each hand; chronograph, hour, minute, second, are true to the markings on the face. I own another watch from a different manufacturer in which the minute hand seems to fall just short of the marker when it changes from minute to minute. The imperfection in that watch is not enough to notice at a glance but I am picky about quality. The Citizen Men's Chronograph seems to have remained true to their history of quality. I am very impressed with the look and feel of this watch as well as the quality of movement. The face of the watch has a unique, metallic-black look instead of matte black. Markers on the face as well as the hour and minute hands remain brightly lit at night after watch is placed near a lamp or bulb. One more thing I enjoyed was the weight of the watch. It is not as heavy as other watches I have owned but seems very sturdy and very well manufactured. I would recommend this watch and will continue to buy Citizen in the future with no hesitation.

This was a perfect watch for me. Is great as a casual watch and the delicate bracelet is perfect for when I am dressing up more. It does not have a second hand but when charged the minute hand moves 1/3 of a minute every 20 seconds. Nice way to tell that it is running correctly without having a distracting second hand.

I bought two of those--one for myself (gold one) and the other one(silver) as a gift for my niece. The bracelet on mine was too large and it didn't lock well--had to send to the repairshop, the warranty doesn't cover that. Paid about $40 incl. shipping. They offered to chage the whole bracelet for $70+...But I don't wear that watch, so it's sitting in the jewellery box --I like my Movado watch better- it has much better lock...My niece lost her watch last month because the lock was not safe (that's after a year and a half of wearing the watch).

Overall, it's a beautiful watch but the bracelet starts showing the signs of wear after several months and the lock is not safe.

I love this watch; I've had it for several months now and I wear it every day. Very pretty and simple, the clasp is totally hassle-free, it's not bulky at all, keeps time perfectly, and matches all my other jewelry. Out of the box it was far too big for my thin wrists, but when I went to have it re-sized it was such an easy and quick adjustment that the store only charged me half-price. The fact that I'll never have to get a new battery is a bonus.

I purchased this watch when one morning I went to put on a watch and found all three of them needed a new battery. Not only is it a nuisance it gets expensive! I have had this Eco-drive for over a year now and I am still thrilled with it. It looks great, is light weight and always keeps time. I can go for weeks without wearing it and just keep it on a shelf where it will pick up light from the room and that has been all it needs to keep going.I do like that to release the clasp you just squeeze two small buttons on either side instead of prying up a traditional snap clasp with your fingernail. I will never purchase a traditional battery operated watch again!

After 9yrs of daily wear, my beloved old EcoDrive stopped keeping good time because it wasn't recharging properly. Having it serviced was going to cost as much as a new watch. That model was out of production, but I wanted to replace it with something almost identical: the smallest, simplest, plainest, steel/silver-tone, metal bracelet EcoDrive I could find. It needed to have all twelve tick-marks for the hours (not just one at noon), but I didn't want the added clutter of a date window, minute tick-marks, or a second-hand. This model fit the bill.



When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was that the bracelet felt "cheaper" than the bracelet on my old watch. Each link is made of five metal pieces in two rows (3+2), but they are fused instead of being connected with a pin the way they were on my old watch, so the bracelet is not as flexible. On consideration, I realized that the biggest difference is that this new bracelet is much lighter than the old one... and that the changes were probably made as a deliberate improvement. My old watch scratched easily, so I will be careful with this one, especially the crystal, because I'm guessing it won't charge as efficiently if it's all scuffed up.



Overall, I'm delighted with this purchase. It's a beautiful little watch, just what I wanted. And I love that it's an EcoDrive. Somehow a watch is never quite the same once you've had to replace the battery; after the back has been opened it's never quite as water resistant afterwards, and its days are numbered. But with an EcoDrive, there's no battery to replace, so I'm looking forward to (hopefully) another 9yrs!

I am not one to spend a lot of money on luxury items however some things that you use every day can justify the added expense. I would love to buy a luxury watch as I do appreciate such things however I can't bring myself to spend the money at this point in my life. I purchased this watch after my Fossil broke and could not be happier with my purchase. Fossil watches look great for up to a year but the quality is not there. They are inexpensive, look great, but are not in for the long haul. The Citizen Eco-Drive ($200) I bought after 6 months has been great. The face has been very scratch resistant and the stainless case/band have held up as well. I often get compliments from my friends who own much more expensive watches. I shopped for a few months in stores and online for a new watch and am happy with my purchase. Hope this helps someone with their decision.

I don't normally write a review, but based on what others are saying regarding this watch, I felt the need. Yes this watch has a mother of pearl face. Therefore coloring will vary, but I wanted a MOP watch face, and this one is simply beautiful. Colors range from pink, to slate blue, to green. I also want to say that the dial where the diamonds are located is grey, not black, but it contrasts nicely with the MOP face. Since it is difficult to tell based on the images of the bezel, just note there are diamonds going around the dial, however they are not continuos. I liked the way the watch looked and was looking forward to getting my hands on it.



Most of the reviews did mention the difference in color between the actual watch versus the image here. But most reviews also mentioned that the watch looked more gray than blue. and I was perfectly fine with getting either a blue or a gray watch.



My watch looks more pink and white than blue or gray!! Not sure if this inconsistency is due to the characteristic of mother of pearl.. still contemplating if I should return it or keep it.

I have this watch and love it. The face changes colors in different light and the diamonds add a little sparkle. In my oppinion the face is not grey. Maybe it depends on the shell that they used when they made the watch. I bought mine in a store so I got to see it before buying. I look forward to putting it on in the morning.

I bought this watch from Amazon for $315 after trying it on at a department store where it was on sale for $480. I have about 6-7 watches but I wear this one every day now. The pictures definitely do not do it justice. Sure, it's sparkly with the diamonds, but not too much bling for daily wear. I work in the office of a manufacturing facility and never feel like I am overdressed with this watch. As for the eco-drive, kudos to Citizens. It runs flawlessly and keeps perfect time. Everytime I look at my wrist I feel rich and prosperous. I LOVE this watch!

Eco drive watches are nice without battery. Just wanted to comment on the photos online

One caveat--most pictures show a mid blue color with black dial...that is not the color. THe first and last picture are accurate; it is a light grey with a dark grey band. Diamonds are not very bright

I got this for my wife on Christmas and she loved it. It was easy to use and not having to replace a battery is a nice feature. The heart charm was a little much so I removed I it easy enough. The only real problem is the clasp. It is very tough to get on by yourself and is an annoying feature on an otherwise nice watch.

I received my watch 2 days ago and I love it! Its very delicate and feminine which I like. I have a tiny wrist so I was worried about the fit, but the clasp allows it to be adjustible. I can't say how it is going to wear yet, but my other Citizen watch that I received as a gift 10 years ago has given me no issues at all (except for replacing battery) I am going to enjoy the eco drive feature on this one! Citizen is one of the best brands in womens watches and I will continue to buy from their company :)

I had purchased this exact watch about 6 years ago. I never experienced a problem with it and absolutely loved it. The only complaint I have is, over the years, the face became scratched. I don't care for the attached heart but it can easily be removed with a pair of pliers. One day I missed placed it, so I had to purchase another one. I normally do not like to wear watches because they seem so big and bulky. This is very light weight and feels comparable to wearing a bracelet.

I've had this watch a couple years and the watchband already broke. I'm looking for a replacement and it's looking like it'll cost me about 50 bucks. The strap is comfortable, but not strong at all. I'd have gotten a watch with a better strap if I had it to do over again.

Yes, the watch band breaks every 2.5 years. AND... it's a proprietary band size, so it will cost you about $50 to replace the band... not a good investment for a $150 watch! I'm going to try to think of some creative re-use of my watch sans-band... maybe I'll nail it to my tool shed in the backyard (after all, it is water resistant and solar powered!)

First and foremost, if it weren't for the strap, I'd give this watch five stars. Citizen watches are excellent, and this one is no exception.



The titanium casing is great (attractive, light, and scratch resistant). This watch is very accurate (I'm kind of a freak about it). It maybe loses a few seconds after months. Never having to replace a battery is an added bonus.



I know it can seem petty to lower the rating because the rubber strap break. However, because of the design of the case/strap, you cannot use a generic replacement or find a replacement easily (google "59-K50102"). The band itself is $35, $40 if you include the cost of shipping.



Being a sports watch, rubber straps are great because it's lighter than metal, and sweat proof (won't stink like leather). Naturally, as with all rubber straps, it'll eventually break. In my case, it broke in less than a year. Beyond the cost of replacing it, there's also the hassle. And because of the peculiar design, it pretty much means you have to order it online and won't be able to use the watch in the meantime.
