"Love the watch, band is terrible" 2010-01-22
By Bob (California)
I've had this watch a couple years and the watchband already broke. I'm looking for a replacement and it's looking like it'll cost me about 50 bucks. The strap is comfortable, but not strong at all. I'd have gotten a watch with a better strap if I had it to do over again.

"Watch Band is Lousy - Not a good investment" 2009-11-12
By W. Hart (New Jersey)
Yes, the watch band breaks every 2.5 years. AND... it's a proprietary band size, so it will cost you about $50 to replace the band... not a good investment for a $150 watch! I'm going to try to think of some creative re-use of my watch sans-band... maybe I'll nail it to my tool shed in the backyard (after all, it is water resistant and solar powered!)

 "casual and sophisticated" 2009-10-30
By Madhu (USA)
This watch is a perfect blend of casual look and sopisticated look. I gifted this watch to my husband. He wears it in every appropriate occasion that comes by. I am not very knowledgeable on watch functionalities. But this one caught my eye when I was looking around. I am thrilled that I chose so well. Been a while since I bought it and have faced no problems.

 "Nice watch" 2009-09-12

Great for those who like quality without expending too much. The crystal is really scratch-resistant. No complaints so far.

"light weight, accurate, proprietary strap" 2009-04-28
By S. Tzen (Santa Monica, CA United States)
First and foremost, if it weren't for the strap, I'd give this watch five stars. Citizen watches are excellent, and this one is no exception.

The titanium casing is great (attractive, light, and scratch resistant). This watch is very accurate (I'm kind of a freak about it). It maybe loses a few seconds after months. Never having to replace a battery is an added bonus.

I know it can seem petty to lower the rating because the rubber strap break. However, because of the design of the case/strap, you cannot use a generic replacement or find a replacement easily (google "59-K50102"). The band itself is $35, $40 if you include the cost of shipping.

Being a sports watch, rubber straps are great because it's lighter than metal, and sweat proof (won't stink like leather). Naturally, as with all rubber straps, it'll eventually break. In my case, it broke in less than a year. Beyond the cost of replacing it, there's also the hassle. And because of the peculiar design, it pretty much means you have to order it online and won't be able to use the watch in the meantime.
